Mystic Spring — This is believed to have been an important water source for the W.W. Bass family home at the rim. The spring is located on the rim of the Esplanade north of Mount Huethawali, but is not correctly mapped on any survey and can be quite a challenge to find. Old photos from the Bass era, such as that of Seal Rock, can be duplicated here. See notes on Bass Esplanade.

Routes — Although there must have been a trail connecting the trail down Bass Canyon to the site of the spring, there is no hint visible today.
